National Day in Support of Immigration Reform

FYI

As you know, the U.S. Congress is presently changes in the immigration law. Many walk outs, rallies, and marches have been held around the countries. Monday, April 10th has been designated as the National Day of Action for Immigrant Rights. Houston will be among over 63 cities across the country holding marches.

For those who are interested in participating in the Houston area, marchers will gather at Guadalupe Plaza on the corner of Jensen and Navigation Streets beginning at 1 p.m. The March will begin at about 1:30 p.m. arriving at Allen's Landing at about 2 p.m. The Rally will take place beginning at about 3 p.m.

I'm an American citizen who thinks the real reason we haven't tanked isn't the foolish tax cuts, it's the productivity and growth that results from the so-called illegal immigrants.

And even the haters, should realize that from a security viewpoint, we would be better off having the 12 million be part of the official society, not quasi-underground.

They are going to be here, either way.

Can we have a National Day in Support of a Big Fence on the Southern Border Plus Landmines day? Please?

We've officially abandonded being a Nation of Laws and now appear to be a Nation of Convenience.

Yet we continue being what we've always been- A nation of bigotry. Plus stupidity, judging by the fact that illegal immigrants are protesting carrying signs saying "we are not criminals" and waving Mexican flags.

so all these people marching are in support of letting illegal immigrants stay here and welcome more in?

do i have that right?

Seriously I would have liked to have voted on such an important issue

for some reason the governement has this idea that you still do have a say, i'll explain how that happens

you vote for some one like senator, president, congressman, etc. and then they do all the voting on important issues for you, whether you agree with how they vote or not

but then of course they might be taking bribes from companies, or other agenda related groups

seems to me that we're just getting shafted

Yeah this might be P&N
Bush today announced that there would be "No Wall" to be built in order to bottleneck the amount of immigration. The situation is similar to weight loss. American found itself fat with immigrants so they decided to start excersize and eat right. However, they need to eat less calories that they burn to see any weight loss, however, no one told them this.

so what are you supporting? imo immigrants have the right to enter the country legally or gtfo.

If this is a rally in support of ILLEGAL aliens then you can go straight to he....I mean Mexico. If it is against illegal immigration I will be there. I will call the local US Immigration office on monday and ask them why they are not at this rally rounding up the offenders considering they always claim they don't know where these people are.

If you analyze the different scenarios and draw your own conclusions this may be bad.

1. Illegals are very similar to slaves (Slaves were actually given a place to stay and were fed, Mexicans are given low wages that barely allow them to have a place to stay or any food at all)
2. This could be a start to a civil war
3. This could be a start to a revolution by the illegal immigrants (We constantly tell them there are 12million of them) They just need to organize themselves.

I live in Brazil, I am a Brazilian, but my grandparents are Italian. They got here escaping from Mussolini's army, and I couldn't be any more proud or grateful about the way they were received in Brazil. Today, Brazil still receives its immigrants peacefully, and I'm really proud of it as well, since we're all immigrants anyway, there are only a few indians around the country... Generally, everyone in Brazil thinks just like that: we're really proud about the fact that we receive immigrants well, our culture only gets richer and richer with their presence.

It puzzles me a lot to see that things are so different in the USA, even more than in Europe, because Americans are mostly immigrants anyway, just like here in Brazil... OK, USA is a lot richer and attracts a lot more people, but wasn't this richness built by immigrants or immigrant descendents?:Q Come on, there must be a better way to handle with immigrants than "get the hell out of my country, you're all criminals"... 🙁

Did your family apply for asylum or some other method of legal immigration?

The problem many of us have is with illegal immigrants, not legal immigrants.
