Alford may have a point, although it's hard to grant credibility to anybody whose language is intended to inflame rather than elucidate, with "Marxists!" & "Brownshirts!" used to describe the same people just being part and parcel of the usual dog whistle politics of the Right... pure Pavlov... and the comments show that all too clearly.
