i fix computers for a living....

well yesterday this fat blob waterhead half retarded guy and his mom comes in and brings this stinky (i literally mean it stunk) emachines POS in, they were certain it was the power supply (even after i told them odds are if the machine is coming on, but not posting it's not the power supply...more likely the system memory or possibly the mainboard)

so this afternoon i crack the case open and this first thing i notice is this DISGUSTING smell of mixed asshole, rotten food, and that cockroach/crackhouse stench.... i almost tossed my lunch right then...

it was of course the memory.... (i swapped out the dimms VERY CAREFULLY, making sure not to let my hands touch anything else in the case and be tainted by cockroach shit)


this is disgusting, there's cock roach shit all caked on the bottom of the case, there's actually roach guts stuck in the cpu fan....when i cranked it on i heard what sounded like roach bods getting crunched in the PSU fan...

just thought i'd let you guys know about this nastiness....

and ANYONE OUT THERE WHO FUCKING LETS THERE PC GET INFESTED WITH ROACHES IS FUCKING DISGUSTING.
 
working at HP returns back in the 90s, opened a box with an HP Deskjet 8xx series with a dead rat inside the printer.
 
god i washed my hands and they STILL stink from just having them INSIDE of the case....

going to bleach hands now.
 
I found a human hand and eyeball rotting inside a Dell machine a couple months back. The guy who brought it in told me why his computer stink so much everytime he turned it on.

i mean, rats will show up in any old house.... it takes a certain DISGUSTING LIVING CONDITION for your PC to get INFESTED with roaches.....

you have it fairly easy, I repair computers to but 99% of my work is done on-site. I have entered some hellishly dirty homes. Now I'm not a shining example of clean myself, I am very messy but not dirty! Try waiting for a 320gb HD to format while you look at a chair so dirty you'd have to be crazy to sit on and a floor so nasty looking you feel like you'd catch some sort of infection just by neeling down. Basically I tell those type of people "I have to go run pick something up while the diagnostic is running" It's hard to stay in the house and deal with the smell and filth. Some of those houses are just beyond words.

When they ask "can I get you anything to drink?" sometimes I'm thirty as hell but don't know if I'll get a nice can of soda, or something in a glass that's probably never been washed properly 🙂

A friend from one of those rent-to-own places commented to me that they leave any electronics in their truck for a couple days. It seems that the cockroaches like the warmth and tend to congregate inside televisions and PC's.
 
nasty...the worst I found was inside a professor's PC that he brought w/ his from Israel. It had this dead spider in it the size of a baseball (diameter).

Well, according to the crazy guy from "Dirty Jobs" roaches like electronics not necesarrily for the warmth, but the radio/electronic signals that they put out attacts them somehow.
