A few days ago there was a thread about various sound cards and their quality... I was convinced to swap out my SBLive! to give my old MX300 another try.
At first, it was ok... I noticed that playing several waves at 1 time would degrade the overall quality(moreso than my SBLive). So I went into game testing... enabled A3D... blah blah blah
Well I came to the conclusion after 2 days of listening to it that I liked the SBLive much better overall. So I threw it back in, rebooted the machine, started to install the drivers... freezes. Reboot, detects new hardware, BOOM, BSOD! :|
So, 8 hours, 4 formats, moving the innards of my machine around, I got it to work again.
I just fully realized how resource greedy the SBLive is... oh well... I hope Creative goes to hell. I still can't figure out why my machine would just freeze on the install of Liveware before I moved the card. :|
Last time I listen to you punks 😉 😀
