Wow, it's wicked outside. Just heard a clap of thunder really close. Scared the shit out of me. And the wind sounds like a freight train. Lights keep flickering. Im kinda getting a little freaked out here. Thunderstorms have always been my kryptonite. :p

There's quite a few tornado warnings around Ontario. I've fled to my basement because of that wind. MMNTech no like, bad medicine. D:

where in Ontario? i will be in TO soon. maybe you can buy me lunch?

I'm about 25mi west of Toronto.

Anyway, sounds like it stopped. I was a bit worried because a town not too far from here was mowed down by an F3 on the weekend. Tornados that strong are quite rare in these parts.

"Severe thunderstorm watch."

Dammit, keep your bad weather on your side of the lake! :p

I'd very much like it if the technology would exist to tell me if there's genuinely a threat of a tornado touching down in my neighborhood, so that I can determine precisely how screwed I am.:)
I've tried NOAA radio (Internet streamed, of course), but it constantly screams out with these urgent alarms when there's a chance of a rather exceptionally breezy storm that might blow down more leaves than usual. Or it might constantly scream out with those same urgent alarms when an F5 tornado is 500 feet away, or when a storm system is bombing the ground with alternator-sized hail made of depleted uranium.

(It'd just be nice to be able to have a warning system available that will wake me in the middle of the night with loud alarms to indicate a genuine emergency, and not wake me up for a windy rainstorm.)

WTB RAIN

We just broke the record for most 100+ degree days in a year today, 70 days. It was set in 1925 and I'm guessing we're going to make it into the mid 80's at least. Supposed to be 108-110 this weekend.

I am 100+ miles away and can see the sky lighting up from the storm. (not a cloud in the sky here, 100's of stars.). Unfortunately, I was just commenting to my wife a few hours ago that I need a few feet of steel cable and clamps to fasten down the garage in a box that we keep our boat in during the summer (no uV, no dust and dirt, no rain). I'm now hoping for no severe winds.

Erie, Pennsylvania.

You guys share enough stuff in the winter.
Lake effect wrath of god.
LOL

tell me about it. Over a yard of snow here last year over a 3 day period.

Good ol' Erie. I used to watch WSEE, WQLN, WJET a lot when I was younger.

edit: forgot about WICU.

I'm going to be pissed if I have storm duty tomorrow.

Pretty good show in the western 'burbs, but I don't hear anything. Apparently downriver is getting pounded.

Such intense lightning. Was watching through the window and literally turned away a few times it was so bright. Nuts!
