Share your experiences of Nashville. Have you lived or visited there and what was it like, good and bad? What are the preferred areas to live in/around from the perspective of someone recently out of school? How bad is traffic? Cost of living? Overall atmosphere of the city?

And anything else that you can think of, please share!

traffic's not to bad. Sales tax is a killer, but no income tax from TN.

Nashville is pretty nice in parts, pretty bad in others, like any big city. Some of the civil war stuff and the old plantations are really cool.

A fun downtown scene at night, good BBQ, great music and bars.

Concord Mills is a huge mall if you need to get your mall rocks off.

Franklin TN about 30 min south of Nashville is really cool.

traffic sucks ass; rush hour lasts for like four hours and no one has the slightest clue how to drive.

downtown is okay, but a lot of the chicks are tourists and won't like locals that aren't wearing asinine cowboy boots and hats (anyone wearing either is with 100% certainty a tourist). there's plenty of drunk shenanigans but way the fuck too many cops (blue-uniformed douchefaggot : normal people ratio is probably 1:2 at best).

If you live in the suburbs the cost of living is pretty cheap, Rutherford(to the east) & Williamson(to the south)counties are where I would suggest. No state income tax and low property taxes make Tennessee one of the lowest taxed states. I came here from Illinois and the Nashville area is great compared to that screwed up state.
