Apparently lots of people. Go thread crap elsewhere, troll.
You can be sore about Nash leaving Big D and I don't blame you. But from a professional athlete perspective you can't blame him for taking a 5 year 65 million dollar contract with a partial guarantee for a 6th ... considering that Dallas refused to match and never offered him an extension while locking up Finley and Dirk to max extensions.
I already said I don't blame him for taking the contract. Of course I would have done the same thing. Difference being I would not have lied about needing a fat contract to stay with Dallas. He implied that Dallas could sign him for less money and he would stay out of loyalty to the team and desire to stay in Dallas. The problem with athletes today is they are all about the money, but can't admit it and expect the fans to buy into their bullshit.
Losing Nash is huge. Mavs aren't any better off unless they can somehow get Marbury, Kidd, Davis or some other great PG. Nash was the motor that made the Mavs run.
I think this is a bit naive. He obviously had chemistry with Dirk on the pick and roll, but he was a huge defensive liability and consistently was outplayed by other PGs in the playoffs. I agree that losing Nash will hurt Dallas in the short run, but we could be better off by the end of next season simply by the fact that Harris is quicker and better defensively and is considered by most to be the best "pure" PG in the draft. I would feel more comfortable if they signed a veteran PG, like Fisher, to start the season and let Harris work into the role of starter. PG typically takes rookies a while to grow into in the NBA. But by no means are the Mavs screwed talent-wise. Daniels, Howard, Finley and Harris should be a nice rotation. Dallas still needs a big man to compete in the West though.
