You can find it here...

http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/

If you take the time to set it up, upgrade the imaging etc. it is an absolutely amazing program.

I am finding places in my neighborhood I didn't even know existed with this thing.

You got a lost pet? You can probably find it with this.

I just got done exploring Cambodia. I tried to check out Hong Kong but it put my box in a choke hold.

I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn more about the world (from climate, to solar radiatian patterns, to oceanic events, to African wild fires, to topographical data... anything) and will put in the time to learn how to use this.

It is simply amazing.

Anyone know how to get street level resolution? I can zoom in but everything gets pixelated to hell, and it doesn't re-image the map.

Hey so how do I zoom in? All I got is this fancy globe, but I've seen that.

Ok but it doesn't actually zoom in, everything just gets blurry. What am I missing?

If you guys have NVidia cards, use the nvidia version of Keyhole. Scrolling over the hills at Half moon bay gives you a weird feeling of vertigo.

Oh I figured it out. You just have to wait for it to fill in everything.

I still can't get down that far, not to street level by any means. Do you just have to leave it for a long time to let it render?

I'm not sure, there are different filters to choose at the top. I'm testing them to see which one can go to the street level.

I wasn't able to get it to render street level, let me know if you figure it out

The OP says you have to "set it up right" and "upgrade the imagery" so I'm not sure what he meant.

I'm getting the impression from the forums that only certain cities are fully rendered so far. And here I was hoping I could spy on myself.

Haha yeah me too! I'm going to try keyhole from google in a minute. I also know with that though you can only get certain parts of the world.

World Wind benefits most from a video card with 3D acceleration. If you don't know whether your machine comes with one, it is likely to have one built in if the computer was purchased within the past two years. Here is a list of video cards that have been reported to work with World Wind.

World Wind requires that you have .NET runtime environment and DirectX installed. You can download .NET runtime environment and DirectX runtime.

World Wind comes with data you can zoom into. After a certain point, World Wind will begin to download more images automatically. The servers hosting this information are very busy and may be unresponsive until we get the necessary infrastructure.

Compared to Keyhole, this thing sucks. I don't expect them to have uber high-resolution images of everything, but even well-known landmarks like Liberty Island look horrible.

I've seen screenshots better than what I can see, I have been trying to figure it out...
