Nasa Picture..what are they blanking out!?

Those aren't blanked out. That is a photo made up of many smaller photos and those areas weren't photographed in detail yet.

part is the rover (witch a previous picture you could see the whole thing) but part is also the planet.

They have directory listing enabled on the site and I was able to dig down to an images directory and find one of the missing image sections:

Those arn't blanked out as stated, but there is one pic where they actually did black out a small section of the rover itself. I wonder what that one was about. My guess is it had a serial number or some other info they don't want to make public, though it's odd it would be visible at all on the rover as I'm sure it was seen by lot of people before it went up in space.

I wonder if the rover has guns on it. You know, just in case.

Or maybe they're hiding a piece of evidence that Canada landed on Mars first and already started establishing critical infrastructure.
