I bought a WD My Book World Edition and it has 2 folders by default, download and public that I can map and use without a login. Then for security I added a user in the NAS and gave it admin privilages and added it to a admin group as well and gave this user and group read and write privilages to a password protected share and to the 2 default folders.
Now before I could add, edit and delete from the default shares, public and download, but now that i am logged into the password protected share I can no longer delete or edit on the default shares.
I have tried unmapping the password share or using the same user name on all 3 shares and using the admin username on all 3 shares but nothing works. What does work in creating a new user in windows mapping the public folder and deleting or editing that way. But once i log into the NAS using my username i cannot edit/delete the public share. Windows says I need the same username for all shares when they come from the same server.
I have emailed WD for support but so far they are not getting this resolved. Anyone else have this issue?
