I've recently purchased a Linksys NAS200 device, and have been pretty dissapointed with the speeds. The recent beta firmware helps a bit, but I'm still running into uPNP media server issues, mainly my PS3 not being able to play 90% of the supported media formats from the device.

Overall I'm pretty frustrated with the poor quality of the unit, and am going to return it.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or mind posting their setup?

I dont mind setting up an actual PC to do the job, but I want a fairly stable setup that can run both my Xbox360, and my PS3 on my HDTV. NAS200 does it ok, but it's slow as hell, and the media format issue is really irritating.

Yap, that is a disease that plagues all the Entry Level NAS'

If electrical cost is Not a big deal any P-III or comparable Celeron with Windows 2000 (or whatever you can get cheap) would work better than a sub $500 NAS.

If you can afford a WHS system it even better.

Power is not an issue. Is WHS your suggestion? I'm just not too familiar with the software required to host the DLNA/uPNP stuff. I'd rather not use Tversity, as for my use it would require a much more powerful PC than I'm willing to throw at it, (large amounts of HD content in WMV/etc that can be played by the PS3/xbox natively)

For those that may read but not post, the solution that I think is going to work for me is a combination of WHS and the Twonky media server.
