NAS, Bluray, TV, Sound...what configuration makes sense?

Hi guys,

currently I have a Sony 60W605B Smart TV (will arrive tomorow) and a DIY NAS (Ivy Celeron, some HDDs). I have music/photos/videos on the NAS.
I have no dedicated bluray player or bluray drive for the NAS yet.

Basically I want to watch blurays on the TV and play music from the NAS without having to turn on my main computer or the TV. I want as few devices as possible.

What configuration would be best suited for that? As far as I can tell it is not possible (at least not easily) to comfortably access a bluray drive in a PC from a TV. Add to that the copy protection. So do I need a dedicated bluray player with a 5.1 decoder?

What I could also do:
Just continue using the DIY NAS as a HTPC, connect it via HDMI and done.

blu ray player to tv. Done.

not sure how you are going to hear or see anything if your tv is off though :awe:

I forgot:
Sound will come from a 2.1 (later 5.1) system. I could run a HTPC, connect the sound system to it and the TV via HDMI. The HTPC would run 24/7 (or on standby). Add a bluray drive and I have covered everything.
Good idea?
