Narrowing it down: Gears of War 2 or Resistance 2

So I am stuck between these two - both good games single and multi - I was curious as to some input on which way to go. I did play the first gears which I thought was pretty fun but I never played the first resistance.

Input would be appreciated on what to choose.

Hmm Gears 2 is pretty good (albeit glitchy as hell). Do you have friends that have either? I find online on the 360 to be substantially better as well, however I have not played Resistance 2 online to comment.

So from my biased standpoint, Gears 2.

Any input on Resistance 2? They both are very different FPS games.

Resistance 2 coop online rocks. Its normal online modes too are also good, but the game really does shine with its coop system being able to lvl up and play with 8 people in a campaign that is different then single players.

To the OP, Resistance 2 is known for having one of the best MP components available. I can't personally say much about it, because I haven't played much.

However, I've heard GoW2 is relatively buggy, and I personally didn't find MP that interesting. A lot of guys on my floor, however, did like it.

As for SP, I really enjoyed R2, though it definitely wasn't amazing (ex: the ending sucked). GoW2 looked like more of the same (which R2 definitely has changes), and I could never get into GoW2.

I don't know if that helps. I personally think R2 is more fun, but you may think otherwise. Why not rent both to try them out and buy the game you pick off ebay?

Single Player: Resistance 2
Multi-Player: I know people jizz their pants talking about brood mode in Gears 2, but there are a lot of glitch problems online. R2's multi-player mode looks awesome with no glitch. Your call.

Maybe rent both and try them out. That's what I would do if you can't decide. /shrug

Here's my stance, the multiplayer has a few fairly substantial glitches (I already have a thread complaining about them), however I find myself still playing hours upon hours of this game with my friends. When I do play it's usually with 3-4 of my friends which really helps out the situation.

So in summary, I get annoyed as hell with the game, but can't stop playing it.

It is no exagerration to suggest that Resistance 2 has the greatest online co-op mode in the history of FPS games.

I think you mean horde mode?

I haven't played resistance 2 so I guess I don't have an unbiased opinion but I think the best choice would be which ever game you have more friends playing.

Gears 2 is buggy for now but still tons of fun.
