Maybe you guys just don't get it.

Even the silent long quiet spaces where nothing happens are so funny, cause it sucks so much. It sucks so much it is brilliant. Its like a english bulldog, damn they are ugly, yet so irresistably cutesy wutesy!

I watched it in a empty movie theater all by myself, I almost fell out of my chair laughing.

ah contraire. I was normal in high school, I certainly was closer to the blonde girl & her boyfriend then I was to Napolean. Yet I loved this movie. And all the cool "jocks" that graduated with me love this movie as well. If anything, from what i've seen it'd be classified more as a stoner movie than a nerd movie.

Definitely not a stoner movie. I know a lot of people who love it and none of them are stoners.

I disagree. Yeah I'm a huge nerd, but I also have so many friends and play sports and go to parties and whatnot. And I don't LOOK like a nerd (no glasses, no bad acne, etc. etc.).

I think it's just a rare kind of sense of humor that you need to enjoy it.

Really now? What movie about a high school loser is AT ALL like this one? Yeah, he has to help out his friend as is the case in most of those types of movies, but the way this one developed was not at all like any other high-school loser movie I've ever seen.

Napoleon Dynamite: It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.

 
My best friend in High School was pretty much a slightly angrier version of Napoleon. I thought it was very amusing because of the striking resemblances throughout the movie, and I also enjoy quirky/oddball/nonsensical humor. The way he spoke with such contempt just brought back so many great memories?
