I forgot where I heard this, but I remembered it just now from a while ago, and felt an obligation to post it here, not an exact quote but I'll still catch the message.

To some people the US death toll in the Middle East is just a number, until you see a scene like this, makes you realize that there are thousands of families losing young men and women, all across the United States. The men and women that died have families and friends, and possibly even children.

While they were saying this there was a video playing of a soldier's funeral including all of the family and friends. It made me cry, because I too was guilty of just thinking of the death toll as a number, not families who have lost a member.

My sincerest condolences.
