There's always the Phillips Screwdriver. That's milk of magnesia and vodka.

<< *note* don't order this drink it is a half shot of everclear and a half shot of 151, in a shot glass >>

Do bars even stock everclear? That'd almost be a liability for them to serve it. I remember making daqueries with 2-3 shots in them and feeling drunk after 1/2 of it. We called those "panty removers", because you couldn't taste the everclear, you just felt this warm feeling in your stomach.

I was going to suggest a Cement Mixer, but azazyel beat me too it. Either way, that's a nasty prank to pull on someone who's drinking for the first time. You take a shot of lime juice, keeping it in your mouth, the take a shot of bailys irish creme. The lime curdles the creme, leaving a nasty blob in your mouth.

Welcome to the wonderful world of mixed drinks. A great staple is Absolut Screwdrivers (Absolut is a premium vodka). However, nothing beats a good whiskey sour made with Jack Daniels, but this is done better at home with your own sour mix. For high impact, a good Long Island Ice Tea will get the evening started.

One of my all time favorite beach / summer party drinks is the Rum Runner:
Rum Runner

1 ounces Rum (White)
ounce Banana Liqueur
ounce Blackberry Brandy
teaspoon Grenadine
5 ounces Sweet & Sour Mix

Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass

Flaming Dr. Pepper is my favorite drink, but I dont find many bars that make em. I am partial to Bailey's Irish Cream on ice. Or anything with rum in it. Rum and Coke is good, so is Jack and Coke. Or try the Three Wise Men, always a good drink :)

Also, try a Cement Mixer sometime, it's an interesting experience hehe.

<< bud-light (shudder)

LOL, heavy crapy trendy beers slow my swing. :) If I wanted a meal in a bottle I'd drink ovaltine. Rather have a very light and refreshing beer in the situation I described. Michelob light or miller high life also comes to mind.

sure it's piss water, but its refreshing piss water. :D

"A good Single Malt scotch on the rocks (its not just for breakfast anymore)"
Amen to that, YamahaXS, nothin like sippin on some GlennLevit or similar.

Fausto1,
We used to make two different shots similar to the test tube baby, one was called a brain and the other was called an abortion. For the brain, pour a shot of strawberry schnapps and then carefully drizzle Baileys down the edge, it collects in a brain-shaped blob at the bottom. For the abortion, pour a shot of cinnamon schnapps, and do the same drizzle with the Baileys, this time it collects in a floating blob.

As far as knock-you-on-your-@ss drinks, we used to order Hemlocks, a shot of Wild Turkey and 151, please extinguish all smoking materials ;).

And the only drink which ever made me wretch was a cement mixer, nasty.

LMAO heavy crappy trendy beers....as opposed ot....light, crappy trendy beers?
Although the high life is one of my favorite trash beers...

I feel like the scene in Dr. Strangelove when they offer the Soviet Ambassador a cigar and when he realizes it's not a Cubano he says "I don't want to support the work of Capitalist stooges."
And the guy says "Oh, only Commie Stooges?"

<< While I prefer spirits...

Nothing quite like an ICE COLD, been sittin in the cooler for two hours, sun shining down, 79 degrees, slight wind, bud-light when you're playing golf with your buds or a corona while you're grilling the steaks....

man, spring need to hurry up and get here already.

Guinness is also good

I'm a big beer drinker, and I usually prefer beers/ales (mostly Belgian brews) that Joe Schmoe has never heard of before, but I agree with spidey. When I'm playing golf/relaxing in the pool/etc, I always reach for a Miller/Bud/Coors. I don't know why, just seems to go with the occasion. :) I was lucky last weekend -- it was sunny & 85. Headed out to the driving range with a few friends and hit a few buckets off the upper deck while knocking back the Bud's. :) I love it!

I killed many a braincells with:
Long Island Iced Teas
Margaritas
rum and coke - Captain Morgan's spiced rum - yummy
vodka - straight - with a water chaser - best if the vodka is kept in the freezer
Screwdrivers

And a little drink I used to make for my self I referred to as the sledghammer - cousin of the screwdriver. Everclear, orange juice, and a little sprite. Those were the good ole days - as far as I can remember. HEHE.

<< sake - yuck >>

Bush wit!!! Good sake is to sushi and sashimi as a good margarita is to good Mexican food; it's the perfect compliment to the food it accompanies.

Good sake has to be heated to just the right temperature. When you heat it, some of the sugar caramelizes, and it takes on a very interesting taste. If you over-heat it, it burns and tastes bitter. If you under-heat it, it's just too sweet. When I visited Tokyo, I was told the Japanese actually prefer different brands for drinking hot and cold.

I'm not a heavy drinker, and I don't drink for the buzz. I choose my drinks for the flavor. BTW, one year, I drove the southern route from Atlanta to L.A., and the best margarita I have found in North America is at a great Mex restaurant at the east end of Hollywood, called El Chavo. :D

Agreed... American beer is like having sex in a canoe... Its fscking close to water!

As far as mixed drinks go...

Tequila Sunrise
Medori Sour
Slippery Nipple

Although, just a straight shot of Tequila is good anytime! :D

<< dead nazi >>

Everywhere I've been, a dead nazi is half Rumpleminz (100-proof peppermint schnapps) and half Jagermeister - not the 151rum-everclear thing you mentioned.

chocolate cake:
1/2 frangelico
1/2 vodka
strain through crushed ice (optional, but recommended)

Its a shooter. It tastes just like chocolate cake, and does not have the burn of hard alcohol

If you like the White Russians and Mudslides, then you can try something similiar, a B-52. It's a great little drink, just a mix of Kahlua and Bailey's (or any irish cream, but you should stick with the best. ;) ) and tastes like liquid peanut butter and chocolate. ^_^

Personally I haven't had a good cognac in a while. For some reason, the college parties around here don't serve much of it.

Jim Beam and Coke (better than Jack and Coke, try it with a twist of lemon and it's your grampa's drink)
Lynchburg Lemonade - 1 part Jack Daniels, 1 of sweet&sour, 1 of triple sec, and 2 of 7up, great on a hot summer day
Yuck (known by other names as well) - Vodka and Lemonade
Homeboy (many different names for this one) - Bacardi Dark and Dr. Pepper (or Cherry Coke)
Cuba Libre (aka Rum and Coke) - Myers, Bacardi (any variety), and Captain Morgan (spiced rum) tend to be the best rums
Margarita on the rocks - try Cuervo or Souza, always a favorite
Whiskey Sour - best with Jack
and ten million others....

Hey here's a really good one I forgot about: Mojitos!

Light rum, soda water and crushed mint and sugar with a slice of lime....the official drink of Cuba. Excellent refreshing summer drink.

Another good one if you feel like getting good and wrecked one night: the Bushwhacker!

Light rum, dark rum, kahlua, bailey's, frangelico blended with ice to make kind of a shake and then grate fresh nutmeg on top. Yummy, but will mess you up in short order:D
