That was a great game for the 2600, played it a lot, remember this?

Not only I remember that, while thrift shopping, I've assempted a "like new" Atari console, Star Raiders, and pad w/overlay! All were pieced from seperate purchases.

Yes, I know I probably could've bought it from ebay for cheap, but that's not as fun.

As for the games that fueled my obsession, it was probably Ultima3 or Temple of Apshai. I can't remember which one I played first.

And, yes, I remember Elvira 2! I was ready to buy it, but I found something else. I remember hearing it was a great game, but buggy. I actually drove out to ElBo, and had it in my hand, but I got something else...

TFC ... Oh how much I loved that game... 56k 370 ping... Best times of my life! I miss and cherish those days, it's a shame that TF2 just didn't grab me the way TFC did

Same for me, TFC and HL1. Got them together and played the hell out of them. Played TFC for years. Although, I haven't been playing it since L4D2 sucked me in.

Battlezone (arcade version) on the computers in my father's research lab. I would play as a kid when my dad took me to his university to do his PhD thesis. Which led to Battlezone (1998) and Mission Humanity. Mission humanity got crapped on by a lot of reviewers but it wasn't that bad, it certainly was fun and challenging.

The 1st game that drew me into PC gaming was the original Command and Conquer. I was going crazy over that game. I would play it literally the WHOLE day when I had free days only taking a break to sleep for 6-7 hours. I would get up at 5 or 6 am before school just to get my fix. I was an obsessed maniac ignoring school, homework.. Just about everything! I played, until I developed horrific headaches, hand tremors, and panic attacks(not joke, true story). For many years I had to stop gaming completely, but the game that got me into PC gaming yet again was definitely Diablo 2. If I would give as much time, effort, energy and determination to my RL as I did to Diablo 2, I would be a CEO of a very large and successful company by now. Without a doubt.
But all I got from it was a Canon PIXMA ip4000 that I bought with the money I got from the account sale. Back then, it was very easy do do, and no one really cared about the legality of it except for Blizzard. Sadly that printer broke almost a year ago... I should have gotten something that would last.. : (

It's hard to remember, exactly. It was either Starcraft, Road Rash, or Full Throttle. I stole Starcraft from my brother's room to play it on multiple occasions.

Simcity or Wolfenstein 3d were my first real IBM compatible PC games that I got hooked on.

Otherwise, I played a bunch of games on the Apple IIe before that that I enjoyed...
Choplifter, Battlezone, Flight Simulator 2.0, Silent Service, Swashbuckler, Karateka, Lode Runner....

Don't really remember which was first, since I was 4 when my dad got the Apple IIe, and was playin games since I've been about 5.

When I got my first computer... anyone remember packard bell? I still have and use the heavy keyboard from the 486sx-25 system I bought in 94. Anyway my faves back then were:
Under A Killing Moon
The 7th Guest
Need for Speed
Star Wars Chess
Doom
Leisure Suit Larry
and probably a lot more if I could remember.

Wizardry (the first one).

Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord

Dungeon of Despair...Is was a beta for Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overloard

Mine was most likely Zork. I remember I played it so much that I could play the whole game with out a map in under an hour.

Starting at Zork, Cant remember any of the many titles from there to Pool of radiance on the C64 and tha Amiga.
Mech Worrior brought me to the x86 and Win 95 to the rest.

Roller Coaster Tycoon and Red Alert 2 were my first "real" pc games. Before that I just had a Playstation 1. I would've been 9/10 when these came out.

I'm not as old as most of you guys apparently 😛

The Bard's Tale.
M.U.L.E.
Mail Order Monsters.
Archon.
Raid on Bungling Bay, and Raid Over Moscow.

If it wasn't for those games, I probably would have lost interest in computers.

First PC game I ever played was Action Biker for the C64. That and Paperboy for the C64 were two of my favorite games back in the day.

Now I played arcade and console games before that though, but those were the first two PC games I played.

I guess i was hooked on PC games from the start, about 5 or 6 years old.

Hard Hat Mack and Radar Rat Race come to mind as the first games I played a lot, both were early games on the Commodore 64.

Definitely played Hard Hat Mack. (the IBM port though; never had a C64, always had an IBM-compatible)

HHM was one of those games in the early PC days that everyone just seemed to have somehow. (Pirated most likely, I guess it was actually sold at one point.) Also Alleycat, and Castle Adventure that I mentioned earlier. As far as I can remember the XT clone we had just kind of came with them.

oh yeah, oregon trail was probably my very 1st pc game, but i don't really recall it making me want a PC or anything. Of course, that was elementary school too and I was happy playing with other things like GI Joes, lol

I almost forgot about LODE RUNNER for the Apple ][. I remember also ripping off the OS from it since it ran faster than the original Apple OS.

Ohh Shit, totally forgot about Hard Hat Mack!!!!
My dad hat that one on the Apple 2E with the green monitor.

Legacy of the Ancients (A C64 title) started my almost 25+ year love affair with gaming. As for "pure" pc gaming, it would have to be Battlehawks 1942, the original "Sid Meier's Pirates!" (from 1987), or Bane of the Cosmic Forge.

The original Civ and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe. Played both in a relatively short time period, and it hooked me for life.

I can't believe not one person was hooked by Subspace. Basically an advanced version of astroids that you played against 100's of people on one map.

My gaming life
Subspace
Counter strike
Warcrack
