I have a question about the 5 boroughs.. if someone lives in Manhattan, I can understand NY,NY... but what about Queens, NY ? Flushing, NY (which is in Queens). I've seen so many different versions... which is right ? When do you just use the city name and not the borough ?

it's weird but even though all 5 boroughs are considered NY city, only Manhattan uses New York, NY in addresses. Maybe it's because manhattan is not divided into different counties? I live in Flushing and I usually just use flushing, ny. I never used queens, ny.

Staten Island, NY

but I've addressed letters going home to New York, NY and my zip, they got to the right place on time.

My address says North Plains, Oregon. I'm almost 10 miles from there, but it's the closest town.
