Obama
dislikes
1. His followers are sycophants and show in this and every other thread on P&N.

So you honestly believe that 8 years of a disastrous Presidency of a Republican has nothing to do with people supporting him over McSame?

Those two things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.

obama:
+ actually seems to be one of the most committed candidates to solving the palestinian crisis
+ wants to pull out from iraq
- i can't fully tell if it is just more and more lies, and he will change like bush did
- i'm concerned about how he has said one thing and done another

mccain:
+ doesn't seem to be a religiously motivated person
+ opposed to torture (or did he flop again?)
- for the iraq war
- doesn't seem to want to change neocon foreign plicy

Do you think you could try to respond to the OP? Or are you too partisan?

umm I did, scroll up a few posts 🙂

Obama
+ Hope!
+ Change!
- Dangerously inexperienced ultra liberal
- Vacuous flip-flopper who lies through his teeth

McCain
+ Opposes ethanol subsidies
+ Pro nuclear power
- Pro amnesty/cap-and-trade/restrictions on campaign speech/a dozen other liberal positions
- Terrible campaigner

Obama
+Charisma
+A chance to put up or shut up if elected
-Says anything politically expedient. He's supposed to be new and fresh, "Just words" it seems
-Zero experience

McCain
+Awe inspiring story
+Pro-energy independence
-Immigration policy fluidity
-Too afraid to defend himself properly

Two things I like about Barack Obama:
1. The way he's responded to some controversies - making a good speech on race when his pastor was raised as an issue, for example.

This shows his ability to find a good position and stand for it in the face of bad political attacks, which could serve him well as president.
And yet in that same speech he threw his grand ma under the bus for being a 'typical white person' and two weeks later threw Wright under the bus too.

That speech was about trying to stop the political damage done to him by Wright and nothing else.

- He did not 'throw his grandmother under the bus. You are despicable.

- He did not 'throw Wright under the bus'. Wright had *new behavior* he responded to well.

At worst, Wright jumped under the bus. You would (and I suspect did) criticize Obama before he disassociated himself from Wright, as well as after. Doesn't matter what he did, you attack. Hence your comments are not worth any attention, as they are not written with any integrity of opinion, but rather are simply pre-determined partisan attacks.

The speech he made on race was a very good speech, and your saying it was 'nothing but minimizing damage' is simply hackery. As so often you should be ashamed, but ya, right.

1. Great personal story and background. What he went through makes JFK's PT 41 look like a few weeks in the tropics.

Your tasteless cheap shot at JFK has the number wrong. It's PT109.

Yeah but JFK didn't have to wear Butchies Dad's watch up his ass for 5 years!

+ BHO
1. Fits well into my "anyone but Hillary" stance.
2. If he should win, he will only serve one term.

- BHO
1. Inexperienced, will be unable to make tough decisions.
2. His wife hates whitey.

+ McSame
1. He's not Bush.
2. If he should win, he will probably die his first term.

- McSame
1. Can make the tough decisions. Will probably push the red button in a fit of anger.
2. He's already coming off as senile.

I'm hesitant to agree, but see evidence you're right. I just watch Jon Stewart play a clip of McCain struggling for the word "gallon" in '$4 a gallon for gas', calling it '$4 a box' first.

Yea, Obama is much better....Obama without his teleprompter
Wow, that's as bad or worse than McSame.

Obama
+ Grass roots candidate (not an entrenched political machine candidate)
+ Intelligent (decidedly liberal but may actually be smart enough to realize that conservatives have good ideas too)
- Won't agree to townhall meetings with McCain (I want to know how Obama really speaks and thinks on his feet - He comes across as a used car salesman...slick oratory and will say anything he thinks you want to hear)
- Comes across as an elitist at times (and way too many people associated with him are hardcore racists)

McCain
+ Fortitude (He's a tough cookie)
+ Energy Policy (We need nuclear)
- Way too old for the job and getting cranky to boot (I think he would make bad decisions based on emotions rather that taking an analytical approach)
- Machine candidate with probably a million favors owed

Personally...I'm disappointed in both candidates and still don't know who I'm going to vote for. Hopefully the debates will help me make up my mind.

Yep, almost makes me not want to even vote for President this time around.

Seriously, my heart goes out to the less than 2% of millionaires whose estates had to pay a couple percent out of the estate.

Maybe, but what about the small business owners. What about a middle class family that owns a few restaurants, whose total asses add to say a million bucks. If the father dies, the family has to pay the 50% estate tax. They are middle class and don't have 500,000 bucks to pay for it. So, they have to close half their stores to pay it, putting dozens of workers out of work.

BO
+ Intelligent in that he's willing to hear everything to make the right decision
+ Great charisma and leadership appearance

- I think he crumbles under pressure
- Lack of political experience, will get eaten alive

JM
+ Supports Nuclear Energy as an option, can actually say the damn word correctly
+ Anti lobbyist, pork barrel spending

- Can go into fits of rage
- Is a shadow of his former self back in 2000 where he actually stood up to the government, now he just panders to the GOP and special interests like no tomorrow, quite sad actually

Wow...that's not pretty. Now I think I understand why he wanted to avoid the townhall meetings with McCain.

i think he's reaching for a cigarette that's not there.

I think some people are hoping and praying that this vidcap will do to Obama what that horrible scream did to Howard Dean so many years ago.

That was the fasteset descent into oblivion in history. Without that scream he might have been president.

McCain - I don't like that he's a republican - evil bastards.
- I like that he is old and will die soon.

Obama - I don't like his name.
- I like that he's not republican - a decent, honest, person.

Nope, you fears are unfounded.

The tax on $1M is zero ($2-4M can be given to heirs with no tax).

The top estate tax is only 45% and it's progressive (starts lower and goes higher as the amount of the taxable estate increases - but tops out at 45%)
