NAME THIS WAR IN AFGHANISTAN

Rison

Senior member
Since we are only going after terrorists that are attacking us, I don't feel that this current campaign should be called the 'War on Terrorism.' The Basques, IRA, and others are excluded. Instead, for history's sake, we should give it a more appropriate name. I'll start out with two. Their meanings should be obvious to anyone.

THE GOOD WAR

THE WAR OF NO CHOICE

Yet Another American Imperialist Holocaust Masquerading As A War WAR !

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a loser.

Wow - there are some really bad attempts at humor going on here. Unless it's supoposed to be political commentary instead of humor. Then it's just pathetic...

How about "Operation Just Cause"

I'm sorry, but the campaign name you have chosen is already in use. Please try again.😀

How about "You fly a f*cking plane filled with civilians into a building and we come down hard on your ass war"

3 months and you people already seem to have forgotten why we are doing this... :|

CNN reported today the Anthrax that killed so many people and put the entire nation into a scare is identical to the strain produced by the CIA in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture. The strain itself was so powerful and of such unique genetic identity that we were told early on that no private individual or private research group could have produced it. We were told again and again that some evil government with a secret biological weapons production facility were the likely culprit. Fingers, our government's dirty fingers, were all pointing in the direction of Iraq, our favorite whipping boy, whose people we have brought to the brink of annihilation while Saddam grows ever richer with his clandestine enrichment schemes that easily subvert our puny sanctions.

The CIA had to alas admit that they continue to produce Anthrax for reasons they can explain away to gullible press.

How stupid of some of us to think the evil government was not overseas but right underneath us. Your sitting inside the country that produced a strain of Anthrax so powerful and sophisticated that it could have killed many people. The CIA is attempting to hijack this government too, kill of its leaders, and assume absolute control over final desicions, thinking that they can better run our Imperialist War than the sissy elected folk in the White House. The CIA has been operating as a parallel government for decades. Now it seems they have finally tired of the institutional weaknesses and have made a covert coup d'etat against their own Masters. One bloodthirsty hegemonist appears to be trying to overthrow the other.

Bush and the media will be glad that someone believes their crap story

How about this one:

The war that we should have just stayed home and not done anything so Osama and his buddies could keep lobbing planes full of civilians at tall buildings because that looks like fun and who cares anyways after all the terrorists must have a reason to be mad and they have the right to express themselves as bloodily as it suits them and any action by the US is obviously for self-interest but that certainly doesn't include the desire to stop more of its citizens from being killed because it most likely is due to monetary gain or oil because the US always does the wrong thing.

That sounds like a good name for a war.

<< Czar, just because someone has a right to an opinion doesn't mean it has to be respected. >>

exactly:disgust:

Still if you ask a bunch of people for their opinions and then one or two give you something that you dont like.. you dont go and trash them for it. You asked because you wanted to know what others thought.

<< Why? You didn't bother with thinking the first time you posted. >>

Your'e right....those were off the top of my head and required little thinking.....you have let the media do the thinking for you and have all the reasons why we are in this war said for you. I do not believe the propaganda, I know the truth. If you would like to know the truth, try listening and having an open mind. Don't believe all you see and hear from the media. They are a tool of the politicians.

ME ! Fool, you are not even close to funny. Ask yourself why we are continuing sanctions against Iraq when they are not achieving the objectives, as we understand them, against Saddam ? Simply, why ? They have not toppled him from power. They have not curtailed his thirst for buidling his war state. He and his circle of cronies have grown richer in the decade since the war. Thousand of Iraqi citizens have died and will continue to die as long as these 'sanctions' are in place. What does the U.S. have to gain from the slaughter of innocent Iraqi civilians ? What does it have to gain from the slaiughter of innocent Afghani people ? OIL ! Money. Ugly Corporate Profiteering ! Nothing more. Saddam loves the U.S. He knows the CIA is conducting a cheap public relations campaign by keeping these useless sanctions in place so a few rich insider friends can continue to reap vast wealth from the suffering of Iraqi people.
The world needs some evidence that the sanctions are having an effect. Since Saddam is not going anywhere, and we all know that, the next best target are the people. Their condition serves as a much better gauge for the effect of the sanctions than the condition of Saddam's government which cannot be gauged without a video camera stroll through the interior of this departmental offices or through a mass international audit.
The CIA needs Saddam. The CIA needs stability on the ground in Aghanistan, in so far as they need puppets they can control. The Taliban could not be controlled. Our government would not sink to the required depth of depravity the CIA judged was needed if certain measures were to be implemented. So they found and blackmailed a lame duck scientist into producing a mass strain of Anthrax to poison the elected leadership, clearing a few bureacratic obstacles, killing off a few pesky Anti-Establsihment types, and whipping up the national fever for decisive military action overseas. Simple. Hello ?
