While the TRUE is often quoted as one of the best, you'll also read that many people end up 'lapping' their TRUE... that is, they sand down the base of it to a near mirror finish to make it as FLAT as possible. My Zalman 9700 worked better, IMO, on a Q9450, than my TRUE did on my Q6600 G0. And I didn't have to lap it. And I like how it gets retained a LOT better.
Unless you are going for 3.8-4.0+ territory, a Zalman 9700 or 9500 should be high on your list. The TRUE takes a lot more work than it's worth at anything less, IMO.

I got to be honest, being a vaporphase cooling guy myself, all these air-cooled HSF's look about the same to me...push some air thru the fins on a heatsink, ok I get it, please don't mind me while I continue to yawn.![]()
