tenured.

😛

What if you become one of those tenured professors nobody likes and nobody wants around, and since you know you can't really get fired unless you screw up big time, you don't give a shit about anything?

I'm a "Desktop Engineer" and I'm fine with it. We have "network engineers" and "security engineers" but i don't view them as above me in any way, just more like a side-motion if i were to take their jobs. I definitely don't want to be a manager of people in any way, nor a director, so... i guess there really isn't another title i want

But don't you want to get paid more? I don't want to manage people either but I'm sure I could find a title that pays more without managing.

Too much responsibility for me...

I'll settle for finding a job doing payroll for a small to medium sized company...preferrably a construction company, but in this economy...

Payroll is repetitive and boring. Sign me up for Chief Human Resource Officer.

i made some business cards for the VP when he got promoted, but i made some fake ones with the title "Excrement Excavator". he still has them, hands them out at parties sometimes.

I am payed pretty well for what I do for the first time in my life 🙂

I guess being a "Senior Desktop Engineer" would be better, but that position doesn't really exist, so the "promotion" would really only be there to justify a pay increase, which would prove your point
