Top Gun, easiest game ever.

Actually, I tried it again a little while ago and I'll be damned if I wasn't able to land on the carrier.

hahaha easily the hardest game ever made...

One of my friends had it when we were kids. His parents must have really hated him. Then again, I got TMNT...

Archon - battle chess FTW
when I traded my NES in that game was worth more than the system + rest of the games combined

That was pretty sweet, too... I think I played through it before I saw the arcade version (and subsequently rented a Genesis and played through that version).

I love that I answered my own question last night shortly after the OP yet something about having the term 'NES game' in the title draws everyone in.

Never played Top Gun, but I did have TMNT (I was the epitome of a fanboy) and Bayou Billy, both of which made me want to kill myself and/or someone else. Repeatedly.

I also agree with whoever said River City Ransom was a great game. For a while, I would go through and try to get as many different combinations of expensive items as possible (e.g., different books, those $200 food purchases, etc.) and copy down all the passwords.

RC motherfucking Pro AM was the best NES game and I'll have no back-talk about it. Accept it's glory into your life and receive salvation.

Also there's a virtual NES emulator that lets you play nes games right from your browser. Not sure how legal it is so I'm not posting a link but.. everyone should know about this. Everyone knows about this right? Well, if just one person didn't know about it then it was worth reposting it just for their sake :p

(protip: google the bold)
