Name that bug!!!

The roach didn't make it while I was trying to wrangle it up. It was positioned with tweezers.

THis is an old apartment building. I don't really have control over how it is sealed, but it is like an old building. I don't think it came from my unit, I havent seen one before and I have been here nearly 6 months. I live in Central Illinois. So its cold and damp right now. Although not as cold as it usually is this time of year.

Thats a COCKroach, lived in many homes as a kid growing up infested with them to the point the crawled over you and slept in your bed with you. Can spot one of them suckers from a mile away.

When you see one, there is usually about 1 million in the walls your not seeing, wait till the bust out and get all over, yeah fun time. Little egg sac casing all over your dishes, crawling in and out of your appliances and electronics. Getting nuked into your food when you heat up stuff and they crawled into the oven and pop, guts squirting all over whats being cooked in the oven and you consume, YUMMY!!! 😀

You shouldn't have to pay to get rid of them. Notify your landlord. When I was a grad student, I lived in a wing with 4 apartments. One of them had roaches and so all 4 apartments were "sprayed" at the landlord's expense. It was really a pain in the ass because my wife and I had to box up everything in the kitchen.

We didn't think we had any bugs, but when came into the apartment after it was "sprayed" we quickly saw we were wrong 🙂 Those suckers will live anywhere. I took the casing off the microwave and even found them in there! Take the covers off your wall sockets, you'll find them there.

Damn, I hate those things ...

ive had my share of roach houses. get bug bombs... lots of them. the same kind they used on mythbusters that blew up.. serious

it kills them.

the only bad thing is you have to kill them AND the eggs.. now thats the trick. good luck sir and may the force of a thousand orkin men be with you!

Bomb your place periodically (say once a week?) for a while which would kill the cockroaches and any ones that are born after. If that doesn't work it's time to call the exterminator.

I remember picking up one of those suckers in my pork stir fry.. thought it was a piece of pork until I looked a bit closer. Yummy.
