I got rid of an original Star Wars comic from 1977 soon after I bought it. Wish I would have kept it.

On a related note:

I wish my dad would have kept his '66 Mustang Fastback (V8, 4 sp. black) bought new! Sold before the end of the '60s.

Edited for grammar...

Uh oh, we just did a good cleaning of our garage yesterday, and a bunch of stuff is now out front waiting to be picked up by the garbage men. Maybe I should run out there and put it all back in the garage.

A story from my Dad:

When my Dad was in college in the late 50's, he would buy comic books from a series titled "Classics Illustrated" and read them instead of the actual books for his class assignments (kind of like Cliff Notes before there were Cliff Notes). When he was done with them he threw them away.

Today in good condition they are worth thousands of dollars apiece.

My sister had gotten rid of thousands of my '80s baseball cards, including lots of rookies, errors, and inserts.

She said those were the first thing to sell during her fundraiser.

:( I wonder why.

I had a 45 RPM release of the "She Loves You" on the Swan label that my brothers played frisbee with along with my entire 45 collection while I was away in the Navy. :|
