This is not what we're talking about. As Darkhawk mentioned, majorities don't need filibusters. You have a double standard. When Republicans used filibusters as the minority party in Congress, you don't seem to care; when Democrats use filibusters as the minority party, you call it dirty tactics.

It's dirty regardless of which side does it. But like I said the Republicans held the senate from 1994 until 2000 for the last 6 years of Clintons term.

If you have some examples of Clinton nominees blocked by a Republican minority I'd say its equally crappy.

Bob Taft of Ohio is about as moderate as you can get. Even before this week's mega scandal erupted, his approval rating was 18%, because he's too conservative for the Democrats and too liberal for the Republicans.

On the Republican Side: Arnold, Rudy, Hagel, Romney, Pataki, Spector, Luger, Chafee, Bloomberg. (Notice I did not put McCain)
On the Democrat's Side: Liberman, Nelson, Landrieu, Pryor, and a bunch of Governors I can't think of right now

General rule of thumb is that if the Republican is elected statwide is a northeast or west coast they are a moderate.
a Dem from the South, Mountain States its a moderate Dem. The midwest is special because though it is usually moderate dems, a strong pro-union liberal can get elected.
