Recession proof as majority of our contracts are either government or universities, two entities that will *never* run out of money.

Which is one of the reasons I am now in this field

I applied for a new job, was called back in 8 hours, interviewed 48 hours later, hired an hour after the interview.

Not true since hospital budgets are also decreasing.

auctioneer
bill/debt collector
grocery store clerk (people still have to food SOMEWHERE)
pharmacist (unless you're buying all of your medicine online and making trips to Canada or Mexico, someone has to measure and dole out the medication)

Shoe repair.

I brought some shoes into a local shoe repair replace the other week and talked briefly with the owner. His business has been booming (mostly women's shoes). Apparently women are cutting back on new shoe purchases and repairing the ones they have.

My wife is a teacher... she's pretty safe I figure.

Maybe in Canada where they value the education of the youth. Not in the the US. Cali is cutting education funding every year to balance the budget. Guess who's getting the pink slip. Young teachers w/ a progressive mind.
