Far from home - not the dog movie, but the Drew Barrymore movie. I watched it as a young teen and thought it was the best movie I ever saw (non sex related that is). Never saw it again though as it isn't shown on movie channels and it was rarely in any movie rental store.

Warning: it is a teen movie, adults might find it lacking. The perfect 10 rating for people under 18 shows that.

fun for all movie lovers:

recent years = spartan
less recent = zero effect - funny, clever, highly quotable private eye movie
already recommended lots = gattaca
classics = high and low (japanese film noir), all the king's men, night of the hunter, the conversation (if you like dark and paranoid thrillers).

Cat People (80s remake)

One of the best erotic horror movie. You get to see Natasha Kinski and a young Annette O'toole (of Smallville fame) naked.

I can NOT believe that anyone has not suggested Shaolin Soccer, one of the greatest movies to come out of Hong Kong. 7 brothers use their shaolin techniques to play soccer!!! HILARIOUS!!!! It seems like the Chineese hired the special effects team and writers of Smallville. talk abot comic gold!!! I've shoed several people this movie and every one of them sayst is freaking hilarious... They all thought it would be incredibly stupid at first, then they watched, and now they show it to people.
Also another one I show people is "Not Another Teen Movie" Great movie... as a film student I can really appreciate the mise-en-sine in this movie (the sets and stuff) Every detail is down to a science. I've watched it 6-7 times and I still find stuff in set design that just blows me away.

Fixed. I knew it wasn't Japan just couldn't think of where. Of course it wasn't great it was horribly bad. Thats the point.

i was disappointed in it; good movie, just something felt lacking in it.

i second Lock Stock and 2 Smoking barrles; the guy getting killed with a dildo was hilarious

clerks
chasing amy

"May" -- _super_ low budget horror movie... but really good, imo
"planet of the apes" -- the original, not the remake junk
"A clockwork orange" -- weird sci-fi/drama/??
"donnie darko" -- interesting
"brazil" -- bizzarre
"spinal tap" -- funny
"rosemary's baby" -- scary
"willy wonka and the chocolate factory" -- family oriented
"gattaca" -- first time I saw it, didn't like it much; saw it again since and liked it more
"three days of the condor" -- interesting/mystery/suspense

Just saw DVD of

"Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring"

OMG, it was such a beautiful movie.

I thought it had one beautiful scene, but found it a bit unsettling overall - a bit (and typically IMO) misognynistic. The paranoid and possessive nature of the married guy was too typical of Korean men.

Run Lola Run

Swingers

Army of Darkness (Bruce Campbell rulez!!!)

Bubbahotep

The Body (old movie with Antonio Banderas)

some more to come 😀

ECT.
almost all of kevin smith movies pwn

Kevin Smith sux and so do all his films.

What is ECT?

Kevin Smith rules. The only people I've known (as of yet, anyhow) who don't appreciate Kevin Smith's work have been the people who don't take the time to try and understand or get it. Of course, you are allowed you oppinion. Um...and What is ETC? That would be etcetera...as in the list was not entirely complete.
