There were lots of good recs, also try Queens Ryche (sp?) Empire CD, it's a good CD (Empire, Silent Lucidity....). I can't believe GnR (Guns and Roses) is not mentioned, they ruled. I don't know what kinda music you like, but also try Depeche Mode, 311, Journey, The Police. Newer rock bands try Days of the News (their debut album) and of course, Tool.

Don't think anyone mentioned Queen, and I'll second\third some Van Halen (don't waste your time on Diver Down). I know you already said you know all the big Metallica hits, but listen to all of Master of Puppets, not a bad song on the entire album.

Definitely not! Try to find a song called Green Manalishi (With a two-pronged crown) by Fleetwood Mac (Judas Priest also did a very early cover of that song that was damn good too).

Rick Derringer - Rock N Roll Hootchiecoo (Sp?)
Foghat - Slow ride
JIMI HENDRIX (DUH!) - Just buy the 2cd Greatest Hits (for starters)
The Doors - Just buy the 2cd Greatest Hits (for starters)

Theres a start for you.
