Here are the things I eat that are healthy or healthier than alternatives that I think taste quite good:

Pink Lady apples

Instead of burgers, Morningstar Black Bean patties or Okra patties. As long as you approach it as, "I'm having something completely different than a burger but still good", it works.

Bavarian pretzels instead of chips

Salsa instead of dip

Peanut butter made from nothing but peanuts

Chili made with ground turkey instead of ground beef.

That would be HAGGIS
Hey, I like haggis, but it is not that healthy. Especially if you do it the right way with whiskey as part of the meal (that is Single Malt Scotch for the uninformed 😉 ). And if you are wondering what in the heck it would taste like... it reminds me of the black breakfast sausage, which, thankfully, tastes nothing like regular English sausage. Regular 'bangers' taste like they are filled with saw dust and some secret "anti-spice" that sucks the taste out of anything.

Salmon is nasty, especially grilled salmon. Worst. Fish. Ever.

I would choose grilled salmon over most other meats...and it is very good for you and high in protein.

I agree - you've got to be really plastered to eat that blivit of doom.

Use chicken broth to spice up your vegetables. Also, baby carrots are great for snacking.
Swanson makes a veggie broth that is good too. High in NaCl, but really good.

Subway Turkey Breast with double spinach, tomatos, onions, green peppers, and banana peppers and spicy mustard 😛

potato derivatives (baked, mashed, steamed)

potato --> high carbs

high carbs and very little nutritional value.

"A plain, seven-ounce baked potato eaten with the skin provides nearly 50 percent of vitamins C and B6 recommended for adults each day, as well as plenty of potassium and nearly 5 grams of fiber--all for only 220 calories and zero grams of fat. " Link

Granted, most people don't eat plain potatoes and many wont eat the skin, but there is nothing unhealthy about potatoes... in fact, quite the opposite. As with most foods it's all in the preparation and accompanying condiments.

Yep. The skin's the best part of the potato, too. Too bad Friday's potato skins are so unhealthy, because they're SOOOOOO good.
