Name a canceled TV show that should have been given a second chance.

Reaper, TSCC, Dresden Files and of course Firefly.

P.S.: They got to finish it but I wish Dollhouse would have been allowed to be stretched into 3 seasons. The last few episodes were really crammed together.

P.S.S Heroes should have been canceled after the disaster that was season 2.

Wolf Lake, they killed it like 1/3 the way through the first season.

Best werewolf show ever from the creator of Carnivale, but you cannot just end it with Lu-Diamond Phillips
being injected with werewolf blood!

Invasion and especially Threshold fall into this category as well. Threshold was awesome, but they ended it abruptly🙁

They also axed Happy Town, which was shaping up to be pretty good.

hehe. I've spent the last 3-4 weeks watching Seasons 1-6(half way through 6) and soon should be done 7. I know when I'm finished I'll go through withdrawals, but I really don't see how they could continue that Series and a Spin Off would pretty much suck in comparison, IMO. There was just so much going on in 24 that you pretty much needed the National/International aspect of it.

What you describe is kinda like what A Team was. Perhaps they'll resurrect a TV Series after the Movie comes out. Perhaps not.

haha, that was my thought as well.

I'd love to see Jack Bauer teaming up with The Unit guys on some sort of mission...but of course that's impossible. Jonas Blain & David Palmer can't be two insane badasses and one person at the same time. 🙁

Unless.... :hmm:

either way, put David Mamet in charge of the next Jack Bauer project and I'll be happy. 🙂

+++ to whoever mentioned The Bernie Mack Show, been watching it on FX lately and it's even better than I remember. RIP to the show and the man 🙁

Heh... I've grown so accustomed to poor grammar and folks spelling things out phonetically - and ignoring word meanings - that sometimes I barely notice these things anymore. :$

I often miss such things as well; but the overwhelming prevalence of "should of" on these boards and elsewhere is like an army of giant fever blisters--their frightful pestilence appearing out of nowhere in sea of relatively mild imperfections, demanding that their presence be acknowledged, and that justice be meted swiftly against their tyranny!

They were supposed to have 13 episodes for the final season. HBO pulled the plug on the show and gave them 1 final episode to tie up all the lose ends. It was only technically a few episodes short, but they ended up having to rush the story to finish it in episode 10. An extra almost 3 hours would have really added to how the show ended.

Oh, right. It was a very short season. Still, I tend to like the 5th season way more than a lot of people give it credit. Should have been even better, I guess.

:\

Firefly (of course)
Jericho (the "2nd chance" they gave it was total bullshit)
Kings
Black Donnellys

Over There (haven't seen this one mentioned)

To those that watched The Sarah Conner chronicles, they think they lost a good show.

Season 1 sucked but mostly due to the writers strike. Season 2 though. it was well done. Very good story arc, etc. Not the best acting but to me, story matters. Season 1 turned to many people away and they could not recover. The viewership never happened.

season 1 dragged on during the first half, but the final half was awesome. The last 2 or 3 episodes that season were epic; and I preferred it to the 2nd season overall.

But I think you're right--it was the opening of the first season that failed to keep viewers tuned-in.

Real shame, and I always detest TV Sci Fi as it's quite wretched. I initially dubbed the idea of SCC as utter crap, but watched a few episodes then just kept watching. It really was damn good. 🙁

I don't watch TV anymore (except for the evening news), but...

American Gothic (Coz Gary Cole was teh devil, and he's a cool dude.)

Young Americans (hey... I liked it. Good characters, good acting. Sue me.)

Enterprise (Yeah, I liked this one too. Not making any excuses.)
