Seriously, in this day and age, how can someone be so singularly incompetent? I reformatted my dad's puter TWO days ago, and today I ran Ad-Aware after I noticed TWO toolbars and 15 processes that weren't supposed to be there. 384 objects!! Only from my brother using it. I then went into his puter and he had three installers open, as well as FOUR toolbars. It's disgusting is what it is. GAH!

BTW, I already have a :cookie:, but thanks for offering 😉

I feel your pain man. My 10yr old nephew was stayed with us for a month, and I had to run Spybot and Adaware daily on my moms machine.
 
We were all newbs once.

I remeber frying the family Laser 386sx computer trying to make it "go faster" <-- read erasing files and running defrag a bunch. 20 meg sys file? Bah we don't need that!

And then spending an entire night trying to figure out how to get my shiney new Packard Bell Legend!! connected to Prodigy. Then getting yelled at by pops for the $200 phone bill (long distance says what)

Also how sweaty my hand were as I installed a matrox mystique card into the computer, and even more sweat as I installed the Voodoo II 12 meg that I had preordered, saved for, and spent $300 on.
 
remove the shortcuts to IE
replace with another browser... (firebird)...

and tell his ass dont install anything he doesnt know what it is 😛
 
I had to lock down my mom's PC with zonealarm, AVG, spyware blaster, and firefox. I have spybot installed just in case something slips through. Seems to be doing fine, not noticing anything out of the ordinary.

Dear Clint,

replacing Internet Explorer with Firefox might help out a bit. also teach your brother to hit "no" whenever a website prompts him to install anything.

Bragging abot knowing how to handle MS sysstems is not a plus in this forum. it is the very leaset epected.

The 'community' computer in my house runs slackware. They can't mess it up. Good thing about computer noobs is, it doesn't matter if the OS is windows or Linux, they are unfamiliar with both.
