I would assume that you'd be able to get it from a regular hardware store or other electrical wiring source.

that's not a cable. its a conduit. those are available at automotive stores. They are available in a multitude of sizes. There is a corrugated variety that is split down the middle, or a braided type like this:link

Looks like 'Split Loom' to me. Any automotive or hardware store should have it. Some even in different colors; and I've even seen gold and chrome types.
