How can i make photoshop format all pics in a directory to 8x6 (they are originally 12x16, too big for a webpage)?

Or do i have to crop each pic individually?

for the record, you won't be cropping any of the pics...you're going to be resizing/resampling. I don't remember how to do it, but you want to make a batch command to resize all your pics. It's very easy from what i do remember.

You have to do them one-by-one unless you can find a custome script that changes the way Photoshop itself functions.

Record an action for what you want to do.

Then go to File -> Automate -> Batch

Open one of the images.

Go to the Actions window.

Hit the button for a new Action.

Hit the record button in the Action window.

Resize the picture (Image->Image Size->800x600).

Hit the stop button in the Action window.

Go to File->Automate->Batch

Make sure the action you just created is selected in the 2nd drop down list.

In the source section, set the folder with the images you want to perform the action on.

Click OK.

Been using photoshop for 5 years now and I actually didn't know about that... incredible... you can never stop learning this program. What a powerful feature, too.
