I got this CD,, it's got .cda files on it, which are 44k each.. What program do I use to rip it to wave. After I edit the wave files,, How can i get it back to the CDA files.. TIA

Need to play it in a car,, ALSO ,, how can i make 850mb of file fit on 700 but still remain WAVE.. I don't mind reducing it's quality a bit, but is there a prg out there that does that

don't yell, this is the 1st time you mentioned that they needed to be played in an old car cd player.

edit: errr, wait....
rip them to mp3, use nero to burn an audio cd. you're done. thats what i do all the time. i'm sure most other cd burning programs do this too.

I was looking at changing the Hz thing to see if it can be smaller,, but it just jumbo-ed the music, chipmunk style.. Does that have to do with anything.. or can i change the bit rate??

You should be able to do this with Win XP and Windows media player 9 or above. Look at the tabs in media player when you have the CD in.

.cda files should play in your car anyways... it's another form of raw uncompressed sound. Don't change the 44k thing, that won't help. Your best bet is just to use a simple ripper like musicmatch or wmp to rip to wave. I'd suggest EAC to rip everything, but it's tough to set up correctly... you could always google it though.
