N00b Hard drive Question...

How do you partition a new blank hardisk?
I have a Win XP bootable disc.

Go into computer management then disk management and partition the drive.

I mean I want to use it as a master drive. Its a new 120GB seagete...I discarded my old disk and this has nuthing on it.

Set the pin on drive farthest to left for master then download a bootdisk and type fdisk.

Did you try inserting the XP bootable disk and letting it format the hard drive for you?

Ya, I think Windows install process will partition and format your drive.
