"Japanese XBox gamers will be able to hold a conversation with their XBox in 2003. Literally.

Straight from the Tokyo Game Show, the Natural Ultimate Digital Experiment was announced. This game will allow you to talk to a robot via the XBox Communicator. The robot will have no intelligence at first, but over time, it will begin to learn from you and eventually converse with you like a normal person. Such use of a microphone peripheral has not been seen since the Dreamcast release of "Seaman", but N.U.D.E. is taking artificial intelligence to a new level.

The robot in N.U.D.E. will understand the tones of your voice, and understand if you are happy, angry or sad, and will also use these same emotions to display it?s own mood. This is possible thanks to Toshiba Corp., who will be developing the voice communication system. The robot?s voice will be presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, making it the most realistic experience possible.

There is no official announcement if N.U.D.E. will make it to the United States.

For those of you uneasy about talking to a robot, rest assured, the visual presentation of the robot is not an eyesore :D Click the links below to check out the first official screenshots, as well as read some more info on N.U.D.E:"

What do you guys think of this? Would you buy such a program?

Yeah no sheyot. I can't believe many people over there would rather buy a sex video game and stay inside instead of going out and getting a REAL person.

When I first viewed the topic, I thought of an entirely different content of this thread. :Q

I think it would be kind of cool to try. I am pretty interested in artificial intelligence, so this is up my alley. But I wouldn't spend a huge ammount of money on it either.

x-box sucks imo

it is the spawn of evil conglomerates (tinylimp, nvidia, intel, creative?)
which i believe are the worst companies in computing

if i were you i'd burn my xbox, then nail the charred remains to a frisbee and fling it over a rainbow

Nice acronymn. Anything to get the attention of the sex deprived.

It's Seaman for horny 15 year olds who can't meet real chicks. Looking at the 14 year old looking girl in this game, for a guy my age it's a pedophile simulator.

I sold my copy of Seaman to EB for $3 last week :(

I would buy that. It is really sweet. Leave the girl as-is. Trying to make it "Americanized" (i.e. Beach Blonde in bikini) would be distasteful. I'd get it the way it was if it had a fun plot (i.e. wasn't a sex game, but like an RPG).
