<< Are they in or are they out? A Lucasfilm spokeswoman told SCI FI Wire that no decision has been made on whether or not boy band N'Sync will appear, however briefly, in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode II--Attack of the Clones, despite word that their footage has been cut. Band member Joey Fatone reportedly told a Florida radio show that negative fan reaction prompted director George Lucas to drop the boys from the movie.

Not so, said Lucasfilm spokeswoman Lynne Hale. "The N'Sync guys were shot as extras ... in a background scene," she said. "Whether that makes it into the movie or not won't be determined until [director] George [Lucas] has a final edit, and he won't have that until close to the time of release." Clones is slated for a May 16 release.

I'm not worried, I don't care if they are in it or not. Other people here absolutely can't stand it so I posted this to ruin their day. ;)

I;m just getting pissed at people like Tarmouth. Seriously, will 5 second of them in the movie ruin your life/the whole movie? No, so why bother with it?!?!?!

God aren't there any 'true' Star Wars fans out there anymore, or am I alone here?

It's the principle of the matter, if people can't understand why having 'N Sync in a 'Star Wars' movie pisses them off, well then I guess you just don't get it, in which case it doesn't really matter/concern you then....

Any 'true' Star Wars fans would have said goodbye after Episode 1. Lucas fu@ked you guys, but you still give him your money. I am so sick of all the moron fanboys who would suck Lucas' little schlong. You guys need to just move along with your lives and enjoy the oldskool films (the first three he made) instead of making him think he is some kind of god with the sh%t he is putting out now.

Who cares if N'Sync is in there? It just shows that he doesn't care about you stupid fans anymore.

There are a lot of true Star Wars fans out there. I consider myself to be one, and I don't get it. Explain the "principle" in jeopardy to me.

Given the fact that they are being cast as mere extras (at the behest of Lucas's daughter), I really don't see what the problem is. If it were a cameo, where the characters interacted with these guys in bit parts throughout the film, I could see how you'd be pissed off.

I suppose your argument is that the fact that they were even cast in the first place undermines the "pure" nature of Star Wars and proves that Lucas is more driven by commercialism and greed than anything else. In response, I would say that a cameo might be evidence of this, but a blink-and-you-miss-it shot would not.

In short, I really think you are overreacting to this. You should focus your energies in making sure that Jar Jar Binks does not rear his ugly head again. That is a cause worth fighting for. This is not.

Ottobot: You are right about that, I feel the same way - I shouldn't even bother with this - George Lucas sold out long ago

Advocate: You have a good point there also, I guess I am over-reacting just a bit
