I really want to play GT4 but I moved my ps2 out to the living room recently and I got nowhere to put my wheel/pedals now. I can't play racers with a controller anymore. Once you go wheel you never go back. They really need to make a good wireless wheel that's universal for all platforms though.
Not much to do in GT4 anyways since they axed online play before it was released. Guess I'll just need to find a good computer racer. My wheel works perfect on computer also.

Was just watching the SciFi channel and they were talking about the Nürburgring race track in Germany. It's the worlds most popular race track (apparently), also one of the most dangerous. After all the races are over for the day, the track is opened to the Public...paying per lap, no speed limit. Seems pretty cool of them to open a race track every day...
But, then they mentioned something very quickly (as if they didn't want you to catch it)...someone DIES there EVERY WEEK. Maybe not a good idea to open it to the public? I mean, they probably open the track to people when it's getting dark out, and it's one of the most difficult tracks out there...AND there's no speed limit.
I guess that's how they do things in Germany though- How long would it take that operation to get shutdown in the states?
Still kinda hard to believe someone dies there every week (or every other week, would still be amazing). Gotta trust the SciFi channel though, right?![]()

Ps. It is a toll road -
The Nordschleife has remained a one-way, public toll-road for nearly 80 years except when it is closed off for testing purposes, training lessons or racing events.

That track really isn't set up for riding - no sand or gravel to slow you down if you lowside and virtually all turns have metal rails. I don't get the appeal of riding there... you will break your ankles at the very least.

I'm surprised no one has linked Top Gear's episode of Sabine Schmitz trying to do the 'Ring in under 9:59 in a diesel cargo van. (9:59 is the time Jeremy Clarkson did the 13 mile circuit, which comprises the 'Ring, in a diesel Jaguar.)
Part 1, the lead-in to the 'Ring in a cargo van.
Sabine attempting to do the 'Ring in under 9:59 in a cargo van....twice.
Good viewing.

The view from the Vette is better because of better camera position. And only a little slower than the Viper.
