My buddy has one and really likes it. I do wonder if durability might be an issue, though, since he just had to replace the one he got in June....... then again, he always seems to have that problem.

Same CPU as the HTC Aria (600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227) with more RAM (512 MB). Should be pretty decent as a midrange phone.

Have had one since June 21st because of the lower resolution screen over the high end phones (N1, DroidX, EVO) the slide feels pretty snappy on everything it does now we just need the 2.2 upgrade to happen for the SD card support

Its not a bad phone - its just a bit outdated compared to other Android phones. Slower processor, lower res screen, all that. Does the job, but between the Vibrant and the upcoming G2, I'd have a hard time justifying it.

True. Given the way cell phone plans work, I don't see much point in getting a "midrange" smartphone. You'll still be on the hook for a pretty hefty monthly fee regardless of what you get, so why cheap out? An extra $100 up front gets you a much better device and costs you nothing extra monthly.

It is not very popular because it has always been an overpriced phone, it is selling for +250 used and was like $180 + 2 years of your life.

I don't think that phone warranted such a price because of the bump in the ram and the keyboard, Tmobile just butchered android in that phone with their "magic key" which is just the google search with free bloatware included i don't know if MT3 Slide will ever get 2.2 but it seems like a big no unless of course you root and download custom roms.

I think is a nice phone but i've had the original MT3G and the screen was too small to type vertically, you had to tilt your phone 90 degrees but considering the added bulk and the $100 keyboard, i'd rather have the original MT

True with the G2 coming out soon unless your picking up one second hand now I wouldn't get the slide. At the time in June when I got it it was the best android for T-Mobile on the market that you could get on a family plan

It got good reviews as a midrange phone. As said above, though, there's little point in getting a midrange device when the bulk of the expense of owning a smartphone lies in the plan, which is the same for mid & high range.
