48X burns twice as fast as 24X (This is a myth because it takes time to write the TOC, lead in and lead out.

Some clarification that I'd like to make: This is not just because of burning the lead in & lead out. More importantly, it's because modern burners are Z-CLV, so the burner varies the burn speed , say for a 32X drive, from 16X, 20X, 24X & 32X. When changing each zone, the burner has to pause approx 4-6 seconds before commencing burning again..... IIRC, the highest CLV drives topped at was 16X. Anything beyond that is Z-CLV

Nowadays you get CAV burners, but they too have a variable burn speed, much like an ordinary CDROM drive

imgod2u Mac's aren't better at videoediting, but final cut pro makes them better for video editing. So I can't really put that down as a myth... and uh.. can we keep it to computer hardware? 🙂
