Anybody with lvl 20-ish elite chars should post their in game names here for some epic maps tonight. I'm Dingles.

Margerie

I'll add you tonight.

Actually I think I already added you 🙂
Ill be in the game in 15mins over my lunch (yeah Im HORRIBLY addicted... MUST GET MORE LOOT!!!)

FYI: I'll take any gems anyone has for $$

i just got an invite to the beta from the website, is it worth signing up for? its going to be free, right? due date? any screens or any other info?

im so scared i will get into it like D2. that was one of the worse phases of my life lol.

I've got some material to unload from my "Regular" character (I want to play Elite instead, but am told you can't transfer items between difficulties) - half a vault of gems, some mixed maps, ~30g, and level ~20-ish musketeer gear. If anyone is interested, LMK.

I got an invite into the Beta, but I was wondering if the Invite system has been thrown out. The announcement said that we should have a couple after we sign up and I have zero. I really want my buddy to be able to play this with me since we co-op'd HellGate London and still play D2 and Titan Quest. It would be a shame not to be able to invite him.

Oh, and he signed up through the website for Beta Testing a long time ago and has yet to get in. Is there any quicker way?

EDIT: I need to kick myself for this. I got an invite from someone on the GameFAQs Message Board. Would someone here be kind enough to toss an Invite my way so I can give it to my friend? If they need repayment, I can assist you with questing in HellGate London (or my clan mates can) or I could do just about anything for you in D2.

Let me know here if you have an invite and want to barter it for items/help on D2 or HGL. Just know that I don't have too many high levels on HGL but all 12 of my characters on D2 are above 90.

I was hoping I would be able to invite a few friends too. Must have tossed it out recently.

Game is pretty good, I'm used to WoW, never really got into diablo but was into starcraft and warcraft. Setup pretty good I just wish there was a few things added like pvp support, I am not liking the overhead to the side view, wish you could switch to other camera angles.

Check the forums for dev posts, they have a semi-blog thread running giving details of upcoming changes. PvP will be coming in the next content patch which should arrive in a month or two.
Chaotic: If you have a beta account, you can request more invites in the BFI section of the mythos forums.

Nevermind. I was looking at the FSS Mythos Forums rather than the official Mythos Forums. I found the BFI Forums.

But hey... Level 27!

You must learn the fu of click and hold 😉

I think I'm at 23 or 24 now with my elite char.

Oh I do do click and hold... still....

I regret not doing Elite. I made a character early on and just chose the default. 27 or whatever levels later, I'm not starting over

what is the real difference between regular, elite, etc?

I'm lvl 17, kind of tired of the game since its basically all the same level grind, what can elite provide?

In Elite, monsters are harder (more hp, more dmg), there are more boss/champion mobs, and your items sell for half as much. It's just harder overall, and the only real benefit is the challenge and perhaps slightly better loot due to the higher density of champions. Hardcore = 1 life as in diablo 2. Hardcore elite is just a combination of the two. The game only has quests until around level 20, so there isn't much to do other than grind past that. Right now, the beta is just to give you a taste of the style of Mythos, some early content, and the skill system/gameplay. Next patch coming soon will have pvp and a new zone (presumably for lvl 20-30) so there should be a lot more to do in a few weeks/month.

Ok so I'm starting a new character can we get a list of player?s names and what difficulty they are playing, types of characters?

Basically, elite is like Diablo 1, where you really have to manage potions and take it slow, while normal is like Diablo 2, where you can butcher large amounts of enemies quickly.

No need to start over, just make a new Elite character and keep your normal one. It's what I did at level 17 after I realized that I am missing out on a lot of stuff.

i just made a human bloodletter, is that an okay choice? i didnt know what hardcore or elite modes were. where do people from anand play?

oh yeah...if i set it to 1600x1200, even though it runs fine, everything seems so small...but it looks no better than 1024x768, really. any reason? generally games look much better at higher res, and things arent that small lol.

oh, and is there any reason that it wont let me go back to 100hz for refresh? it was working fine at 100hx @ 1024x768, and then i tried going to 1600x1200, but when i went back to 1024x768 it wont let me go past 72hz. wtf

I prefer elite because it's a better challenge and overall the game feels more balanced. More unique monsters makes the game more exciting.

If everything looks too small, try setting the UI scale higher in options. You can open up more menus and see farther at higher resolutions.
