Wesley Snipes used that guy's eyeball in Demolition Man. ;)

The real scopes have a ball that moves in a bowtie pattern that you're supposed to follow with your eyes.

Not in the ones I've used. They got screwed up if you moved your eye at all.

If someone attacked the authorized person with a fork and removed their eyeballs they would not be able to pass the test.

There's no what the eye ball would be intact like it was in that Movie.
Eyes don't come out of the socket that easy or cleanly.

yes they do. we did it to a cadaver i worked on.

I believe they were testing them on the premise of being hollywood-generated concepts about how security systems could be generated - modern myths.

What, you want them to be trying to prove Zeus knocked up a bunch of humans? They use the term myth very loosely.

I like when they stick to proving/disproving urban legends. This one's a stretch, IMO.

Yeah but the whole episode was Movie Myths, so it was part of the whole theme (Finger prints, motion sensors, heat sensors, getting into a safe using water..etc)

hmmm... so much for that lock. Did anybody see the episode a couple days ago where they were trying to clean out a cement truck with explosives? They screwed up one truck, and ended up with a 3-foot-thick "floor" of solid concrete in the bottom of the drum. Nothing they tried put a dent in it, so they loaded the whole truck with explosives, and blew it to kingdom come :)

The video was weird though - I guess it was at least partly due to the distance from which the filmed the explosion. No big bang, just a flash and a strange little "zip" sound, kind of like a bottle rocket taking off.

Simon Phoenix was programmed with mad eyeball removal skills when he was on ice.

yea the finger print eps was kinda interesting, they also did motion sensors/lasers and other stuff.

last weeks was hollywood myths:) tory got to shoot an mp5 heh, and well lots of shooting locks on doors and stuff. yes sorta like that box of truth site. cept they tried to replicate the underworld shoot the ground in a circle to escape thing.

and yea it woulda been a nice thing for consumer reports. how much did that "premium" fingerprint lock cost again?

I saw that one. I do question who was controlling who in the underworld experiment though - Tory or the MP5? :p

I used to work at a datacenter which had similar fingerprint locks on the doors leading to the computer floor
they were pretty crappy and half the time didn't work with your own real fingerprint
no way a photocopy woulda worked on that one

It's not about myths! It's about building insane machines and blowing stuff up. Duh.

It's like Top Gear. They tell you it's about reviewing cars, but really, it's about driving extremely fast and blowing stuff up.

May both shows run forever.
