Myth: The Fallen Lords

Yeah the storyline through Myth 1 and 2 were fantastic, I really liked how you saw the story from the POV of a common soldier rather than being some faceless commander like in a lot of RTS's.

Also no matter what you did it somehow magically became a part of the story. This really gave it the "I'm living a movie" feel.

I am using archers to take out some wights before moving forward when a ghol sneaks up to my archers. The beserkers auto turn and attack the ghols. As the ghouls get closer the dwarfs auto acquire and throw their molotoves. The bombs kill my 3 zerkers and 1-2 archers.

Casualties.

The failure rate on some of the ranged moves really makes the game more tense. I was on a map where there are a few choke points that you use to hold off big armies. There is snow everywhere and i have 2 dwarfs that go through 3 molotovs each without 1 exploding. Reload last save.

Anyone remember this game from 97? I think of this game every few years like i do Vampire: Bloodlines.

It was a fantastic RTS game that focuses primarily on combat as there wasn't any base building. The story was progressed with journal entries at the start of each level.

Don't think they will ever make another one past 3 but i would love it if they did.

Yep. I still have my game discs for all three myth games. It was chunkalicious, if I recall correctly.

awesome narration too. Added a lot to the atmosphere imo!

I remember completing Myth 2: Soulblighter then trying to do it again on Legendary. yeah...micro managing your dwarves was the only way to take on the number of enemies...didn't get more than a few missions in before giving that a rest 😛
