Is it just a myth or a reality that mercury motherboards are not of good quality then their counterparts manufactured by intel asus etc?

What Googer say is true, plus, for an Intel chip a board made by intel is always superior. Even though intel boards don't have all the bells and whistles as other intel compatable boards, intel MADE boards are the most stable (for intel chips).

Asus used to make boards for Intel, not sure if they still do.

I am aware they sell motherboards with their own name on them. They have 4-5 Motherboard manufacturers build boards for them. Asus and Foxconn make moast of them (top maker was Asus but now Foxconn). They actually make very little outside CPU, Chipsets, and NIC chips, almost everything else is outsourced.

Intel doesn't make any motherboards.
Um, YES they do.

I completely understand, as I stated no company makes a complete board, its finacial suicide.

Intel mobos are much more prefered than almost any other 3rd party boards out there when it comes to Intel's sockets

I under standd nobody makes the whole board but they handle the actuall production of it. This is not the case with intel as they don't produce anything but the chipset and don't even handle the production of the board.

I know, but the outsource manufacturers have to make the Intel boards to whatever Intel specifies, which is why they are the most reliable mobos for intel cpus. Overpriced but highly reliable. I only use Intel branded mobos for building servers, for all others i use ASUS or Gigabit, I used to use A-bit but had some issues with them for the last couple of years.
