OH FOR FUCKS SAKE. I just realize I posted the same picture three times.

Well I updated, but yeah, this confirms Apex is right.

I tried too hard yesterday to find differences on the pictures with no luck... now I know the reason.

Yeah, sorry about that. I forgot to check, it was late at night. 🙁

Usually someone calls me out on it, so no one had and I didn't know.

But yeah, I guess it is a Russoin Q1. Brilliant. And Apex has a Noble? Dayum.

That one's easy - Bugatti Veyron.

wtf, how do you not know about the Veyron! if I saw that thing next to me Ill follow it lol.

I should have put the sarcasm tags up 🙂 Anyways, I was on 400 driving into Atlanta when I saw it. Was amazed to see something worth about as much as the sum of ever house on my road driving next to me.

It would really suck to run into a Veyron while gawking. I carry higher insurance limits than most people but my $500K CSL policy would barely make a dent in the cost of a new Veyron.

Thanks Apex, that looks 100% spot on. For all you guys saying Noble M400, that was sort of correct because Rossoin purchased Noble and the rights to the M400, which the Q1 is based on heavily. But, while the M400 is designed as a race car, the Q1 is more sports car oriented with more luxuries. But still, with that kind of speed times...they did a tremendous job.

Yeah. The M400 is a pretty barebones track machine that happens to work well on the streets (actually more comfortable than the 996TT, thanks to long suspension travel, good dampening, stiff chassis, great seats, good air conditioning, etc). You're always aware of the roots though.

The Q1 really stepped up the interior quality and convenience factor. It's much more civilized, though performance is still up near the M400.

Amazingly fun cars.

Side note: Even with just 450hp, there's enough power to spin the tires in 3rd gear and probably chirp going into 4th, despite the mid-engined layout. These cars are about as light as a stripped Mini Cooper. If you want more fun though, get yours up to around 600hp and you can spin 5th gear, even with DOT-R tires. 🙂

That's a good point. I would bet that the owner has supplemental coverage, because even if I paid out the $500k from my insurance, I'd never be able to pay the other $1 million in a timely manor.

Q1 looks like civilized version of M400. Interior on Q1 looks really good and not that much different from what you might find in a Ferrari. Performance is still awesome. $100k is still out of my price range but I can dream.

I rather have M400 or Q1 than a Ferrari. Better performance and more exclusivity.

Would you get 600hp with a chip?

Nah, a simple reprogram of the stock ECU gets you to about 500hp or so.

Getting above that reliably on the swill that passes for gasoline here in CA requires upgraded pump, injectors, exhaust.

Getting up to the 600 mark, it really helps to have an upgraded intercooler and slightly bigger turbos (ie. GT28RS vs GT28R).

Very inexpensive though.

One of the really nice things about these cars is the engine is CHEAP: $4400, delivered.

In other words, let's say you totally blow it up, like absolutely destroy it. Getting a brand new one still costs you less than a single medium routine maintenance on a Ferrari, or major routine maintenance on a Porsche.

$4400 is cheap? I'd hate to see what you consider expensive. Hell, for my car I can get a built replacement to handle nearly 1000HP for about $3500.

$4400 is cheap for an engine. I would be throwing a fit if I blew out $30k+ engine like those in M or AMG series. $5k engine, I would just curse couple times and write the check.

Yeah, a lot of my friends bitch to me about gasoline here. My low end engine doesn't mind 87 Octane from Arco (cheapest station of the lot)

I didn't know you lived in CA, I was about to bring up that maybe my friend saw your car but then I remembered you have an M400.

Yeah, $4400 is not an expensive engine at all for a $100k vehicle that, stock, runs 0-60 in 3.3 sec and corners at >1.14g. Especially when you consider it's reasonably built (Wiseco forged pistons, Scat H-beam rods, forged crank, ARP bolts, piston squirters, balanced, blueprinted, etc).

The M5/M6 engine is $29k for just a rebuilt short block. Brand new, it's over $40k.

A new LS2 crate is about $5-6k, and that's with cast parts.

I just built a new 355 for my 63 vette, the SBC has to be nearly the cheapest platform out there, and my build is pushing $4k without any really exotic/fancy parts, straight up blueprint engine with dart heads.

A zz4 crate motor, at around 350hp runs just under $5k, the ZZ383 at 425hp quickly gets over 6k.

I'd call $4400 cheap too

Personally, I'd quite like an Aston Martin Vantage 4.7L V8. Slap on a supercharger with around 7-8 psi, and I'd be able to churn out around 520 bhp I bet.

Vantages depreciate like shit, I'd buy one used, and use it as a sleeper toy.

I guess if you are looking at strictly crate (OEM) style motors then yes, but the aftermarket for my car has an entire other world out there and I don not mean eBay junkyard motors either!

Then again, if you consider the LS9 engine, that thing is what, $29k for a replacement?
