I just got a new phone, and I saw this myspace mobile thing. I laughed, shook my head, and deleted it. Silly.

You can either use Opera Mobile and set it in the options to identify itself as a desktop browser, or change PIE's settings in the registry to identify itself as IE6

http://modernnomads.info/wiki/...et+explorer+user+agent

I can't imagine browsing some myspace sites in their full "glory" on a handheld device though. Some of the crap on there brings modern desktops to their knees.

This sounds good. I was going to suggest trying a new browser as well.

Bingo. I knew there had to be a registry setting for this.

EDIT: unfortunately that CAB file doesn't work with my version of windows mobile. I will have to find a reg edit for this i guess.

Sadly I have lost some respect for you today. I pictured you as this big manly dude, the titty bar bouncer type with words of wisdom on women.

However, your admitting you use Myspace just shattered that.

I'm sorry for you dude, I shall mourn this day.

Oh, and before you say it's just to pick up chicks let it be known that will fall on deaf ears.

A sad day indeed :(

Myspace may be a POS... but it's the USERS that send it over the edge. In the proper hands, it's actually decent.

I tried changing like 6 registry keys as the articles stated. still nto working. BULLSH!T

Only thing I can think of is that they are identifying my device by the verizon ip address. Maybe all mobile verizon devices have similar IP.

yep I'm definitely thinking this is a verizon conspiracy to save bandwidth. Gmail shows up as normal gmail not the mobile version. Everythingq.com which also has mobile device detection also shows up in normal full version. Definitely a verizon conspiracy.

Those may only be for Pocket PC devices, let me see if I can find a .cab or regedits for SmartPhone.

Also, go to Opera.com, I believe the smartphone version of Mobile is still in a free beta. That may help..

I found the specific registry edits at everythingq.com and used a regedit to do it. Now every site I've been to that previously was mobile is now showing normal except for myspace. I think verizon wireless is forcing this to save bandwidth.
