so i sign up for the free 30 day trial at myfico.com yesterday. they were unable to verify my information online so i was told to call them to verify. i just called them and since i do not have a mortgage or a car loan that they are unable to help me and said that if i want my fico score then i will have to pay equifax. all of these credit related companies are scum who keep screwing me over and over.
 
That doesn't make sense. Your FICO score is based on your credit usage etc. If you have credit cards (who doesn't?) they should be able to help you.

Maybe the CSR was a n00b? Did you ask for a supervisor?

i have a single credit card and i called back and was told the same thing

they probably use information about those loans to verify your identity. Thats what www.freeannualcreditreport.com does
