Hello All, I just want to share my joy of getting me Mobile 2600+ to run at 2.7Ghz stable....

Specs :

Thermaltake PurePower 420W
Abit AN7
Athlon XP Mobile 2600+ (DUH) 1.84V
1GB Corsair PC2700
ATI X800 Pro (560/560)
SB Audigy2 ZS Platinum
SATA Seagate 80GB
ATA Seagate 120GB
ATA NEC Dual DVD 3500A
ViewSonic P95F+
Logitech Cordless MX for bluetooth
Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 speakers

I watercool both my CPU and X800. Temps are in the screenshots.

Run something like :

superpi 1mb...

cinbench2003

povray3.5

any of the sciencemark test....

These test dont depend on the vidcards or HDD's so it would be a nice comparison to what a 2.7ghz A64 versus a 2.7ghz xp.....

The numbers look close but my chips at 2690mhz is a bit higher then those by 400+....memory scores are about 1/2 as much as mine and I am running a bit under 400ddr....

I get 33sec on superpi 1mb....

Duvie, I get 35 seconds on my 2.2GHz 3400+ system, everything stock except X800 Pro. I guess SuperPi likes the 1MB L2 cache.

OP, 2700MHz on s462 is incredible. Good job. Is it Prime stable?

Super Pi 1MB was 42secs.

CINEBENCH 2003 v1

...42s at 2.7 ghz? Wow, that sucks. Most people get like, 36 or 37 at 2.7 ghz.

Try and get a better memory clock though, 215 isn't that great.

I'm sure his system feels really fast. I had a t-bred @ 2,4 ghz before and it felt as fast or faster than the p4 3,2 ghz I'm using now.

I think 215Mhz is great considering my ram is only rated for 166Mhz.

It does like the cache....My centrino scores quite well with that fact.....When I ran it with my unstable 460ddr even at a lower speed I clocked 31sec....So it does take some memory in to effect as well as cache....

The best my P4 ever got even at 3.5ghz with ~400ddr was 39sec.....

The A64's have really taken this bench over...

Agreed.

Nice job man!

Well even at a FSB of 230Mhz my SuperPI 1MB test is 40secs. I either need a insane FSB or its my memory timings of 2.5-3-3-11. Please remember that this PC2700 rated for 2.5-3-3-7 @ 166MHz.....

How about folding or SETI? Will those apps run at 100% for EXTENDED periods of time, say upwards of 12 hours straight?

Nice OC dude...

You will see a nice overall speed jump if instead of 12,5x215 you use for instance 10x265, but with other ram...

Well I know I would see a speed jump if I used a FSB:265MHz but that would require forking out a good $250+ for a 1GB of fast timing ram.... I really dont see it being worth the speed jump that I would get. This is also asuming my board will run at 265Mhz.

I just need this setup to hold me over intill either socket939 supports PCI-E and DDR2 or when dual cores come out...

Congrats, Great Speed & Results!!😀 Consider running on PC2700 2.5-3-3-7 ram and achieve 215MHz FSB!

What is your CPU Cooler? What is CPU Temp at full load 100%? What is your VDimm (Memory voltage)?

You can get Prime95 Here. It is nice to have a try & let us know. 🙂

Right on!!! Nice in benches but no real world performance leap to make that worth it....

I said in my first post that I watercool, as for temps. Looks at the screenshots.

WOW!!!!

Tho......I'd I like to see that speed and those timings with two sticks of ram. Just what kind of voltage is that stick taking to reach 250Mhz?

Nice oc. I ran my 2500@2.76
tooo bad an A64 at 2.3ish stomped my ass in benches....as to why I upgraded =)

Meh, I can do 262 at 2-2-2, dual channel, 1024 mb... takes 3.2v though.

Btw, stormgiant, your memory is only running 215 mhz in that ss.

Yes. my mistake. Wrong pic. The right one only got to 262 stable 🙁

The screen is from my last P4 3.0C. Damm good cpu.

I chance alot of cpu's. Running right now from last Monday a 939 3000+ with Msi Neo2 54G Platinum.
When it's stable, i'll change my sig.
