Any ideas on how I could fix it, or get it fixed? I got it this christmas, and its already broke. It's been used pretty often.. but wtf! go microsoft, GO!

:(

any ideas how long it will take if I bring it back to the store? I dont think ill be able to find the receipt, but ill ask the person that bought it for me

Thanks everyone

UPDATE:

They dont have any in stock, they didnt have any since christmas. I have to call up microsoft to get it fixed. If they would have had some in stock they would have exchanged it in store, but they don't have any :(

What should I do? Is it really worth it? I could probably fix it myself if I opened it, but, is it really worth it?

Thanks!

w/o the box may be pushing it. i would imagine is off to microsoft. you can always try them though, especially if you have a receipt.

It has a 90 day warranty under Microsoft, call them up. They'll probably send you a box to send it back in.

Walmart exchanges or returns for 90 days now. If you dont have the reciept they will ask for your drivers license and give your money back in the form of a gift card. If your looking to exchange it and you dont have the box-you will when you exchange it. Meaning if they give you crap about no box tell them you will give them the new one when you do the exchange. That should work for you to be able to get one right away.

hey man...i mod anywhere between 10-15 xboxs a month, so if you cant get it fixed by M$ or Toys R Us, i can help you out. this is a common problem with the dvd drives. it can be fixed if you have pretty advanced soldering skills, or you can always buy a new one and get it installed.

anyway, just letting you know i can help out since this situation sucks for you.

Whats the problem iyo?

i heard about some type of dial to move in the drive to read cds properly, to set the amnt of ohms between two things, i really dont remember, its been a while..

I could probably get it done myself too, but I dont want to void the warranty...

Thanks :)
